STONE REPLACEMENT IN FIFE

Weather erosion, salt damage, or in some cases location will be a major factor in stone decay. Bad maintenance or poor repair techniques will also add to the decay of stonework. Stonework should be replaced if it has structural defects such as cracks compromising the structural strength of the building, or where it has eroded beyond 50mm from the original stone face.
